There has been a lot of sound bites flung back and forth between Obama and McCain on national security issues since Obama became the nominee.  Now its time for a concerted frontal assault from the Obama campaign.  As I see it, that why the announcement was made today (and meeting planned for today) of a Senior Working Group on National Security.

Yesterday the Obama campaign posted on youtube a video of an impromptu discussion that Obama had on Friday with his campaign HQ staff  and volunteers in Chicago after becoming the presumptive nominee.  This unscripted 14 minutes provides a wonderful glimpse of what it’s like to work with Obama and what it will be like having Obama as president.  For those of us who love to reflect on the words, I've transcribed much of the video.

300th SD for Obama, (actually 300.5!)  

I’ve been working as Obama volunteer in one of the conservative counties in rural congressional district 9 in southwestern PA.  It’s been a both wonderful and challenging experience.  I was struck yesterday as I canvassed at the very large number of undecided voters and the convergence of demographics and lies that makes this area so challenging for Obama.  I believe there is a moral to the story, which is the imperative to keep calling into PA and canvassing with maximal intensity.
